Pebble Hill Plantation is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a two-day plein air artist's workshop with nature artist Deborah LaFogg Docherty of Boynton Beach, Florida. This is a wonderful opportunity for artists to strengthen their skills in plein air pastel drawing with one of the regions award-winning photorealistic painters. Combining her two loves of nature and painting, Deb brings to life her artwork with vibrant color and exquisite detail. She has been studying wildlife in its natural habitat since she was a child on her family’s farm in Connecticut and has mastered her artistic expression in plein air technique and form.
This two-day workshop will include indoor and outdoor instruction (weather permitting) covering the topics of composition, contrast, color, subject photography, drawing, and sketching.
Many will be familiar with Deb’s work as she has participated in the Wildlife Arts Festival in Thomasville for many years. She is currently teaching pastel classes at the Delray Beach Center for the Arts, Boynton Beach Art and Cultural Center, and Norton Art Museum in West Palm Beach, Florida.
