WHY?
Today’s event is held in honor of the late Mrs. Elisabeth “Pansy” Ireland Poe, the last mistress of Pebble Hill Plantation. Miss Pansy was an avid and accomplished polo player and was a pioneer for other women in the sport. Your support of this event will benefit the Pebble Hill Preservation Fund, which helps preserve and maintain Pebble Hill’s 3,000 acres, 100 structures, and animals. We are thankful for your support. The Pebble Hill Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit.
What should I wear?
You may come in your Sunday best or dress more casually to suit the weather and your comfort. Hats are encouraged and we will have a hat contest at halftime with prizes. If it is sunny, a hat will be a good idea and they make a terrific fashion statement for the event. Feel free to be as conservative or creative with your hat as you would like. We would love to see some fun and colorful hats. Footware should be comfortable and be mindful that you will be walking on grass, dirt, and gravel surfaces and you definitely want to wear shoes suitable for all of the fun of the halftime divot stomp!
Will there be food and beverage available for purchase?
Yes! We will have a variety of food vendors on site from sweets to seafood. Coffee, soft drinks, water, and other beverages will be available, too. You may bring your own picnic and cooler for an addition $10 fee (glass containers are prohibited). VIP ticket holders and Sponsors will enjoy complimentary food and beverage under the Sponsor Tent.
May I bring outside food and drinks?
Yes. For a $10 fee, you may bring your own cooler, but glass containers are prohibited.
Where will I sit?
We have bleacher seating available on the south side of the polo field. You may bring your own folding chairs and tables for setting up your “tailgate” spread.
May I bring my dog?
Yes! Dogs on leashes are welcome. Just please be courteous and clean up after your pets.
